Students at Clovis West walk by it every 15 seconds; often times it gets trampled on, kicked, or even crushed. It lies on the ground helpless, giving off an innocent glare, but in reality that is only a façade for the problem it causes.
The trouble is trash and there’s too much of it being left around the campus.
In the morning the campus is nearly spotless, but the heaps of garbage begin to pile up throughout the day, especially during lunch.
There are plenty of trash cans throughout the campus; it then becomes the student’s responsibility to simply throw away their garbage.
Sadly the carelessness of the students is left for the administrators to pick up. Anybody who walks by the quad after lunch will notice dedicated administrators, like Mr. Moorhead, who are voluntarily picking up the leftover lunches of students.
Respect is one of the character counts pillars, but students have been showing a lack of it, by demonstrating that they are too lazy to put their own trash in the can. Clovis West has one of the highest API scores in the valley- one would think that such a group of powerful minds would be able to complete an easy task.
Solving the problem is answered by a simple saying, “Make a mess, so clean it up.”
